Thanks to xDrive, the BMW X5 maintains perfect traction even on difficult road conditions. This intelligent system uses its Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect the early signs of instability and reacts instantly as needed.

Engine power is distributed flexibly and variably to each axle: the axle with the greatest traction receives the most power, delivering optimum road-holding, perfect performance on bends and excellent forward thrust.

You don't have to fly business class to be able to experience instant acceleration to top speeds with negligible interruption. The eight-speed automatic transmission Steptronic not only ensures incredibly soft gear changes across all eight gears, it also significantly reduces fuel consumption.

The new eight-speed automatic transmission Steptronic shifts gears so fast and seamlessly you can hardly spot it on the rev counter. The additional gears reduce the engine's rev interval between shifts, so the transmission process is barely noticeable. At the same time, the engine is always held at the performance level at which it can optimally utilise its strength and efficiency.

The eighth gear reduces the number of revolutions at high speeds, tangibly increasing comfort while reducing fuel consumption and emissions. The system is supported by the newly developed and more efficient converter clutch – even if you use the electronic gearshift lever to change gear manually.

The side air intakes have been enlarged for improved cooling, and the side panel has been modified. The black trim at the bottom edge of the body is reduced. The reshaped rear bumper with more body color trim, seamlessly leads to the tailpipe.

The taillights have been redesigned to an L-shape and now have LED lights for a cleaner design. The fog lights have been moved inwards, making the vehicle appear lower and there are new wheel designs. Finally, new interior and exterior colors are available; these include Platinum Gray, Deep Sea Blue, Sparkling Bronze, Oyster and Cinnamon Bronze Nevada Leather.

Every angle from within the BMW X5, with its fine woods, selected leathers and understated metal elements create an atmosphere of comfort and style.

The optional and innovative Head-Up Display shows relevant information, like current speed, directly in the driver's field of vision. The height and brightness of the display can be individually adjusted, so that the driver can fully concentrate on the traffic at all times.
